Capable NZ has developed world-leading learning assessment services to help your organisation develop its most important resource: your people.  Our approach is based on respect for the learning of individuals, and for the rich learning environment provided by their workplace.

We work in partnership with organisations to provide work-relevant, work-based learning and assessments.  We can assess people for a large range of qualifications, including post graduate qualifications, undergraduate degrees, diplomas and certificates, and partial qualifications.

This partnership could involve Otago Polytechnic:

• Identifying how staff development could further your organisational vision and goals
• Identifying an appropriate set of qualifications for your organisation. These could be for internal recognition, or national qualifications
• Assess your staff’s learning through experience. This assessment may enable them to gain new qualifications directly, gain advanced standing towards qualifications, or may show what new learning they need to gain a qualification.

For staff who require new learning to complete qualifications after the assessment of prior learning (APL), we can deliver workplace learning projects directly related to the goals and needs of your organisation, supported by workshops, block courses or distance learning.

Our innovative process enables candidates to:

• Deepen their reflective and analytical thinking, and so also to increase their ability to learn.
• Make their personal learning explicit, so it can be applied, built upon, and shared.

Its value is thus ongoing, both for the individual and for their organisation. Our primary focus is both what candidates understand, and what these understandings can now enable them to do. Our APL process provides your staff with an opportunity to grow; it is not merely a credentialling process.
