If you are a skilled and experienced art practitioner holding a Diploma in Fine/Visual Arts, a pathway has been specifically designed to enable you to be assessed for the Bachelor in Visual Arts from Otago Polytechnic’s School of Art.
If you have completed your Diploma in Fine/Visual Arts, have gained skills and experience as an art practitioner and have exhibited a body of work, you are likely to be a suitable candidate for the APL process. Contact us to discuss how you may qualify.
The APL process will encourage you to identify, articulate, demonstrate and reflect upon the understanding and skills you have gained through your real life experience. Capable NZ facilitation prepares you for assessment by bedding your experience into a theoretical framework.
The final assessments will be based upon the presentation of a folder of work completed since your Diploma qualification, and your ability to analyse and contextualize this in relation to the current graduate profile of the Bachelor of Visual Arts.
Workshops will assist you with this process and following your assessment, your assessor will make a recommendation to Capable NZ.
Further programmes through the APL pathway are available through Capable NZ in partnership with the School of Design:
